About me
Rosemary Peterson (she/her) is the Education & Employment Manager for the Washington State Department of Commerce’s Office of Homeless Youth (OHY), where she leads statewide initiatives to expand education, training, and economic opportunity for young people experiencing homelessness. Her commitment to this work began as a McKinney‑Vento Graduation Success Liaison, an experience that deepened her belief in the power of education to disrupt cycles of homelessness.
With more than a decade of experience in public education, Rosemary has become a strong advocate for youth experiencing unaccompanied homelessness and for ensuring they have access to meaningful postsecondary pathways. Guided by the belief that every young person deserves a champion and a clear path to independence and stability, she works to shape policies that honor the strengths, needs, and aspirations of young people across Washington State.
