Dr. Melissa Van Straten is an educational leader and scholar-practitioner who currently serves as the Director of Elementary Teaching, Learning, and Leadership in the Mount Vernon School District in Mount Vernon, WA. Her career includes roles as an elementary classroom teacher, instructional coach, curriculum coordinator, and assistant principal, and her doctoral research focuses on the intersection of implementation science and emotional intelligence in leadership approaches to curriculum implementation.
