About me
Hello! Thank you for attending MTSS 2026! I have been teaching since 2005. I graduated from CWU in 2005 but moved to the Oregon Coast to begin my career as it was (and is!) beautiful there. I taught within a self-contained and medically fragile classroom for four years, followed by resource room and tutoring for eight years, followed by two years of general education math and history as a general education teacher (I was endorsed in all middle school subject areas and special education k-12). My father was aging, however, so I moved back to Washington State to be closer to him. I used my masters in curriculum, instruction, and assessment, and experience with different development levels, to help create science-based inclusive practices at Toppenish Middle School, where I started teaching in 2019, first with math and science teachers, and currently with ELA and history teachers. Outside of school, I have a son who is a competitive basketball player, I enjoy jogging/the outdoors, and I practice in real estate (Washington licensed broker) and estate law (California State Bar attorney: wills, trusts, advance healthcare directives, and powers of attorney over financial affairs).
