MTSS Integrated Conference '26

Amy Cannava is an east coast transplant trying to both remember and forget the Seattle Stare. As a veteran Nationally Certified School Psychologist (NCSP) of 25++ years who remembers RtI's attempt to eradicate the archaic discrepancy model and improve academic achievement through intervention (Special Ed is not an intervention!), Amy is glad that 2028 is just around the corner and WA will be embracing research! She is on a quest to bring psychology back to school psychology in Washington and away from compliance and case management. In June, Amy completed a decade of service as the Chair of the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP) Sexual Orientation and Gender Diversity Committee. She aims to ensure youth voice and choice in all matters which affect them. An LGBTQIA+ advocate, ally, and hate adversary, she remains inspired and appropriately challenged by queer and trans youth who fuel her passion for bettering the world.
