Grounded in MTSS, inclusive practices, and trauma-informed approaches, this workshop emphasizes prevention over reaction. This session focuses on practical, evidence-based strategies that reduce student removal from instruction and increase meaningful time in the classroom. Participants will examine the root causes of exclusionary practices—ranging from unmet behavioral and academic needs to systems-level barriers—and explore how to proactively design environments that support engagement, regulation, and access for all learners. By the end of the session, participants will leave with a clearer understanding of how to sustain student presence, reduce reliance on exclusionary discipline, and create classroom conditions where students remain engaged, supported, and learning.
